Not many athletes or people in general can say they had a better 2025 than Scottie Scheffler, who not only won six events, two of which were majors, he also won multiple awards and had a big role in Happy Gilmore 2. Scheffler has been the number 1 ranked golfer in the world since March 27, 2022, and he has been nothing short of perfection since then. He won his first PGA Championship and his first Open Championship in 2025 which now brings him to four major championship wins. All he needs is a U.S. Open win and he will be a Grand Slam recipient. Scheffler back in 2024 won a Gold Medal in the Olympics, and that seemed to only light more fire, as he kept on collecting win after win. It all starts with the PGA Championship where he dominated with a final score of -11 on scores of 69, 68, 65, and 71. He was three strokes ahead of anyone else. He was a top 10 finisher four other times and was finally able to get his big victory. Scheffler is favored to take home the victory in 2026 as well and is projected to have another big year ahead of him. His Open Championship win was even more impressive as he would finish with a -17, four strokes better than second place. A big improvement from 7th place the year before, it became evident, all he does is win. This is the second Major Event that he will defend the title in 2026, and at the moment it does not look like anyone can dethrone him from number one. Outside of winning big events he also starred in Happy Gilmore 2 as himself and had some very funny cameos. It was his first film acting credit. It was just another big event on top of his already MVP-like 2025. He won the PGA tour player of the year, PGA tour money list winner, and also won the Best Golfer Award, Byron Nelson Award and Mark H. McCormack Award. It was a year to remember for Scheffler, and he looks to continue that dominance in 2026. Could this be the year that he wins the grand slam? If it is, we will see how many more big events he ends up winning.
